Luuk Verberne

Mechatronic Engineer

Profile

Hi, my name is Luuk. I'm a mechatronic engineer with a passion for 3D-printing with 2+ years of experience in the 3D-printing world. I've worked on several unique 3D-printing projects like converting a 6-axis robot arm to a high volume FDM 3D-Printer and developing and building  concrete 3D-printers. Be sure to visit our project page for more details.

My end goal is to develop high-speed, high-quality FDM 3D-Printers for pro-sumer market. In the meantime i'm gathering experience and learning as much as i can about FDM 3D-Printing technology. I believe that 3D-printing is commonly underutilized by companies and I'm looking to change that by developing my own systems using 3D-printed parts.

2017-2021

I've studied mechatronics at the Fontys University of applied Sciences in Venlo. During which I've learnt about electrical and mechanical engineering in addition to industrial programming. Part of this study where several internships and various projects. Some of which involved experimental 3D-Printing technologies such as 6-axis robot FDM Printing and 3D-Concrete printing.

2020

6 months of this year were dedicated to the Minor "Smart Product Development for Additive Manufacturing" at Fontys University of applied sciences in Eindhoven. Here I learnt about design methodologies for additive manufacturing like topology optimization and designing constraints for various additive processes like FDM and DMLS metal printing.
